One of the biggest games set to release this year features one of the most iconic movie killers of all time: Jason Voorhees. Based on the trailer released, the graphics look amazing and the gameplay sounds like it is going to appeal to numerous people. It involves one player who controls Jason while the others play his victims in a classic hide-and-seek game. What makes it both challenging and fun at the same time is the fact that the whole game is set in a large scale environment and whoever manages to stay alive the longest wins the round.

2. We Happy Few (PC, Xbox One)

Release date: June 2016

We Happy Few has an interesting plot to back the whole game up. Citizens of a town called Wellington Wells are forced to take a drug called Joy, which controls their thoughts and makes them perceive the world as a happy place. The main objective of the player is to escape without being caught. What makes this game so impressive is that it was independently released and crowd-funded by Kickstarter. It was able to generate as much as $266,163 from more than 7,000 donors. While We Happy Few isn’t exactly a horror game (leans more on the psychological thriller genre), it still does deliver an eerie atmosphere to be classified as one.

The first Outlast game was released back in 2013 to rave reviews and is easily one of the best survival horror games in the market for its plot and gameplay. It was mostly praised for combining found footage elements to the whole game. The first game followed Miles Upshur, an investigative journalist who finds himself in a dilapidated asylum filled with dangerous and homicidal patients.

The sequel, on the other hand, will involve an entirely different plot with a different journalist. Players will get to control the main character who investigates a murder in the countryside along with his wife, but after their helicopter crashes, his wife goes missing and he finds himself surrounded with dangerous psychopaths.
